Exhibition Design
As Project Editor and Designer for Roger Brown: Calif. U.S.A. (2010), I designed the catalog and five interpretive booklets to showcase the artist’s manipulation of scale. The exhibition brought together Brown’s collection and Virtual Still Life series, works combining painting and art objects. The square format emphasizes the object-like quality of the books.
Curated by Nicholas Lowe with assistance from the staff of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Roger Brown Study Collection, the exhibition was held at the Hyde Park Art Center. I also had the opportunity to work with a team to research, catalog, and install hundreds of Brown’s artworks and objects. The catalog featured essays by Christine Atha, Nicholas Lowe, Lisa Stone, and myself.
